Dr. Danette O’Neal, entrepreneur and trainer is the Broker/Owner of Danette O’Neal Realtors with offices in the Greater New Orleans and Atlanta Metro areas. With more than 20 years in real estate, she regularly lends her expertise to nonprofit organizations expanding their missions, as well as to her own The Jericho Housing Corp. She holds a PhD in Public Policy and Administration, a Masters in Public Administration both from Walden University, and a M.A. in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University. Dr. O’Neal is a skilled “Sign Language Interpreter” and speaks fairly decent Spanish. Her honors include: The “Top Minority Business Person of the Year/New Orleans, HOPE Award Honoree for Leadership,” “The Top 100 Minority Brokers in the Country,” The Mayor’s “Golden Hammer Award- Realtor of the Year,” New Orleans City Business “Woman of the Year,” and “Top Producing Realtor of the Year” for the National Association of Real Estate Brokers.

The HGTV alumna is a Certified National Diversity Trainer and also trains for the new Employer-Assisted Housing Initiative Dr. O’Neal is the immediate past chair of the Diversity Committee for the National Association of REALTORS.

In addition to Money Matters, Dr. O’Neal has written two audio books- Getting Your Financial House in Order and Credit Basics 101. She currently teaches at Strayer and Ashford Universities in the Schools of Management and Public Administration and for RealtorU/Devry University in the new Master’s program in Real Estate. Her research interests include: gender in the workplace, nonprofit management, and asset retention in socioeconomic vulnerable populations, environmental justice, and the use of income maintenance programs as poverty reduction strategies.
