On March 18, 2020, Governor Brian P. Kemp announced that Georgia has received an official statewide disaster declaration from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). This declaration will provide assistance in the form of SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans to impacted small businesses in all 159 counties in Georgia. Georgia is one of the first states to receive the loan approval; the application process may be overloaded as other states are able to apply.

Business owners are to prove a loss either directly (impacts business/revenues directly) or indirectly (may be subcontractor to another business that has loss revenue or part of a service/supply chain that caused loss) due to COVID-19. Applications are now available online and Georgia small business owners can go directly to the SBA for assistance.
